The Code of Honor
These are not guidelines. These are the standards we hold ourselves to and hold each other to. The room stays clean because everyone in it takes this seriously.
No promotions in the group chat
All pitching happens only during Pitch Hour, inside the Pitch Zone. The chat opens during meetups for your elevator pitch and closes when Pitch Hour ends. Anywhere else is off limits. The purpose of pitching here is not to get clients from the group itself but to get better at pitching.
No direct recruiting from the group
If you want to hire someone, post in the Job/Hiring Zone following the format provided. Let an admin know when a hire is made. If you hire silently and something goes wrong, the group bears no responsibility.
Spamming the Jobs Zone with unvetted posts results in immediate removal and a permanent ban. No refunds will be given for any reason.
Do business freely but do your own due diligence
You are free to work with anyone in this room. We do not vouch for anyone yet. If you make money because of this room, let us know and share your experience. We want your client to win, you to win, and the room to win. A true win-win-win.
There is no single coach here
This is a mastermind-style room. Everyone brings something to the table. We learn from each other. Show up with an open mind and something to share.
Find a partner and stay consistent
You don't have to do this alone. Use the Accountability Zone to find a partner. Pick one person. Stay consistent and see how accountability can help you grow.
Respect each other's work, always
No asking for free work. If you can afford it, pay for it. If you don't want clients doing it to you, don't do it to others. This is non-negotiable. It is how we build the culture we want to live in.
This is not a silent room
If you stay inactive for over a month with no responses in the chat, or miss three consecutive meetups without notice, you will be removed. We want fewer people and higher quality and not a crowded room full of just observers.
Keep the chat purposeful
Do not share portfolio or website links in the General Discussion Zone. It signals desperation, and no one here wants to work with desperate people. Use dedicated zones for dedicated purposes. If you have doubts, concerns, or need to report anything, you can always reach out to an admin directly.
Terms of Membership
By joining The Freelancer Room, you agree to the following terms in full. Please read carefully.
Membership fee & access
The one-time membership fee of ₹499 grants you lifetime access to The Freelancer Room WhatsApp community and all associated digital resources including meetup recordings available at the time of joining. Access to future meetup recordings is not guaranteed and may be offered separately.
No refund policy
Due to the digital nature of this community, we do not offer refunds under any circumstances. Once payment is made and access is granted, the transaction is final. If you are unsure, this room is probably not for you yet.
Offline meetups & venue costs
The ₹499 membership fee does not cover offline meetup venue costs. Members are responsible for contributing to venue costs as and when offline meetups are hosted. Details will be shared in advance through the Announcements Zone.
Removal from the community
The admins reserve the right to remove any member who:
- Violates any rule in the Code of Honor
- Remains inactive for over 30 days with no participation
- Misses three consecutive meetups without prior notice
- Engages in spam, harassment, or conduct unbecoming of this community
- Asks for or provides free work in violation of the No Free Work rule
- Randomly texting members from the group in hopes for projects and jobs
- We find out to be making less than ₹50,000 per month: The reason for this is that there are different challenges for a beginner freelancer than a seasoned one. Removal is at the sole discretion of the admins and is non-negotiable. No refund will be issued upon removal.
No liability for business dealings
The Freelancer Room does not vouch for any member, service, or business arrangement made within or through the community. Any business conducted between members is entirely the responsibility of the parties involved. The community and its admins bear no liability for outcomes of such arrangements.
Content & recordings
Meetup recordings and any content shared within the community are for personal use only. You may not redistribute, resell, or publicly share recordings or community content without explicit written permission from the admins.
Privacy
By joining, you consent to being part of a WhatsApp community where your name and profile are visible to other members. Personal information shared within the room should be treated with respect and confidentiality by all members.
Changes to terms
The Freelancer Room reserves the right to update these terms and the Code of Honor at any time. Changes will be announced in the Announcements Zone. Continued membership constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
